101 Ways to Improve Your Life!
Volume IV Issue II - February 2007

Dear Melissa,

Big excitement! I finally got all three new sites launched. Do check them out and send feedback. While I had often gotten compliments on the old site, it was confusing to many what I actually did! Confusion is now clear, each site is clearly dedicated to a particular aspect of Melissa Galt, Inc. and we’ll grow from here.

Coaching launch is official! I am thrilled to be formally launching my coaching practice both for design and home furnishings trade professionals and individuals that are ready to indulge in designing their signature life. Having been certified by Marcia Wieder, America’s Dream Coach, I have a unique structure to ensure client’s success in the coaching process. Having experienced coaching myself over the years, my perpetual frustration was always a lack of frame work for strategy and measureable results. I’ve got it now!

Are you ready to be the architect of your vision, the designer of your plans, the builder of your connections, and the celebrater of your success? CALL ME!

Life by Design: Creating a Unique and Original Life - One Man’s Example

Life by Design: 101 Great Ways To Improve Your Life, Vol. 3
I am delighted to share my latest book contribution in excerpts! This was released last week and is available either online or through the link here.

Creating a Unique and Original Life In order to lead an original and unique life, we do have to think outside the box and create our own rules and guidelines for accomplishment. The best among us always have done so. It is our privilege to observe and learn from the lessons these pioneers can teach us.

My great grandfather, the renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, left just such a legacy. He never played by the rules but instead forged his own path and despite many naysayers created architecture well ahead of its time. His designs still serve as an inspiration today. Many said he couldn’t do what he ultimately did. They said it wouldn’t work, wouldn’t stand the test of time, and would collapse. While many of his projects have undergone extensive renovation, the innovative concepts presented in such properties as Fallingwater and the S.C. Johnson Wax buildings are timeless and blazed a trail of originality and creativity far ahead of his time.

Frank Lloyd Wright, while a legend today, was perpetually broke, often accepting bail-outs from clients, and indulging in his passion for collecting art and buying grand pianos for his well known musicale evenings, rather than paying his debtors. His fondest saying was, “Give me the luxuries of life and I will gladly do without the necessities.” Of course, he didn’t do without necessities, but what he found essential was far beyond what most people consider necessary. He lived a life apart and beyond his peers and even those closest to him. He lived a life of his own design.

What trail would you blaze if you made your own rules? What necessities would you give up to have the luxuries you most desire?

Upcoming Travel and Adventure: Temporarily Grounded

I know it is a surprise, it was to me too! I had a handful of fun trips planned including Hawaii for a week in March with a friend of mine, but as luck would have it (or not) that has changed. I am looking forward to a possible junket for deep sea fishing to Perdido Beach in April, and the Kitchen and Bath Business Show in Chicago in May. Being grounded for a bit gives me a chance to get many open projects off the ground and loose ends wrapped up. Of course, if I am here too long, I’ll start in on home improvement and that can be dangerous!

Latest Presentation: Celebrate Your Career: Making More with Less

I presented this to the design and home furnishings trade organization IFDA (International Furnishings and Design Association). The highlights included becoming the architect of your vision, the designer of your plan, the builder of your connections, and the celebrator of your successes! It received rave reviews and I look forward to hearing stories of success from those in attendance.

“Fantastic presentation. Really magnetic and riveting.” Scott Engel, Custom Framer
