Often we join an organization or club because it will be good for business, but we neglect to really utilize the benefits available or get involved with membership. I am guilty! I had joined the Buckhead Club almost a year ago, and think I’ve managed to attend just a couple of events and a lunch or two, my excuse, of course, being I’m too busy or didn’t have anyone to join me. Well, I bit the bullet and attended a Buckhead Eight event, it was great! It is too bad more organizations and clubs don’t have something similar.

This is a chance not to network, but as Bob Littell says to netweave, and as I call it to netlive. We had a concentrated two hours with just 7 other members to really get to know one another not just our business endeavors and goals but a bit about our personal priorities, families, lifestyles, travel, and hobbies. With that sort of in depth exchange, I am much more apt to refer not just business but also social opportunities and simply connect them to other like minded individuals whether entrepreneurial or corporate. When I left, I felt like I had made new connections and look forward to nurturing those. I also met some truly intriguing professionals and expanded my circle.

This is the missing piece! I think she could have done the same with a book half the size, but the point is hammered home.
