Fresh Inspirations! June Newsletter!
Volume III Issue VI - June 2006

Dear Melissa,

Changes afoot . . . Movie and book reviews are moving! I am going to include them in a separate postcard in the last week of each month, along with a restaurant review. It is just too much living to include in one ezine! So be sure to look for the end of month update and know that the ezine here will be a bit briefer but still packed with design tips, life philosophies, fresh inspirations and design trend updates.

Another ezine on the way! No, you won’t be added to another list, no worries. But I did want to let you know that I am creating a short monthly ezine for my speaking audiences entitled Signature Success. It will include motivations & musings and tips & secrets for the best in designing your life, not just your interiors. I’ll include proven formulas for career success, the keys for connecting both professionally and personally, ways to establish your passion and purpose, and how to start leading a life of intention and inspiration rather than impostering (I make up words as needed) someone else’s dream.

Miami Heat! Just back from a two day sojourn in Miami last week where I spoke on Lifestyle Selling: More Than a Look. Travel details from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel will be featured in the next postcard . . . what a treat, and be sure to look for the review of Joe’s Stone Crab Restaurant. Upcoming is an adventure in Pennsylvania at Marcia Wieder’s Dream Camp.

Live well and beautifully,

MG

Fresh Inspirations:
Living Rich in a Readymade World, part II

6. Add greenery ... Whether a silk plant or you've got a green thumb, greenery in every room really adds a sense of life to the space. This isn't a license to run wild with flowers, and no dried arrangements please (they look dead and are)!

7. Readymade isn't always cheap ... Consider your sources and instead of being locked into bargain basement and everyman looks, try the more exclusive catalogues like Horchow, Gumps, and Chambers. Whatever you can imagine is likely already there for the ordering and living.

8. Know who to call to make it happen ... Even if you aren't going custom it still makes sense to call in a professional decorator or designer and have them work with you, creating a master plan to avoid expensive mistakes and lost time in returns.

9. Plan a celebration ... Plan a housewarming for each room or the whole house. This gives you added incentive to get the project off the ground and move forward. Remember, too, that no one is coming to visit your stuff, but to visit you - so relax and let them bring something to contribute.

10. Make a road map ... Map out each of the changes and improvements you want to make in each room. This can be a list by room or even a sketch if you are feeling artistic. Keep a file by room of favorite finds in catalogues and magazines (be sure to look up the resource in the back of the publication).

Project Update ... Catch the Wave

A Commercial Project
This client is a self-made success heading up his own executive recruitment firm, specializing in the banking industry and healthcare. Currently he is opening a NY office and will soon be doubling the size of the Atlanta office completed over a year ago. He is an avid art collector with eclectic taste and that makes each project infinitely interesting and occasionally challenging.

I got a real thrill to learn that shortly after completion, the building voted the reception THE BEST DESIGNED IN THE BUILDING! They are well located in Atlanta’s Pinnacle Building, known to locals as The Wave building.
