A Walk in the Garden
Maple cabinetry in a golden nutmeg finish, topped with St. Cecilia granite with bits of garnet gleaming, this guest bath is a pleasant weekend stop off, with enough storage for extra towels, and guest belongings. The oversized framed mirror mimics a vinegar painting finish, and dark bronze fittings and vine leaf hardware add interest. The floral piece work shower curtain was a find at a big box.
About the Client
With friends vacation homes in the area, my client wanted to find a weekend getaway. This three bedroom, two bath home was a great layout, but required a real face lift. With new flooring, all new wall colors, all baths and the kitchen completely gutted and redone, and the horrendous popcorn ceilings scraped down, the vision for a place to entertain friends and get away from Atlanta began to show through. We established the color scheme based on a couple of antique quilts, and moved immediately into rug choices, with a family of Soumak and Nourmak weaves in lively yellow golds and crimsons.
Rave Review:
"Having worked with Melissa for a couple of years on my in town home, I didn't think twice about having her in on the ground floor level of my weekend getaway. What an incredible transformation! She has made it very difficult to want to even go back to the city on Sunday night. This is an awesome retreat, I regularly have friends and family in and everyone can't get over how comfortable, personal, and spectacular it is. She took care of all contracting, flooring installation, color scheme, lighting fixtures (my favorites), all furnishing selections, including judicious use of pieces I had in the basement of my Atlanta home. Any challenges that have arisen she has handled professionally and with great care."
