Arts and Crafts Invitation
In natural cherry with simple flat stiles, this kitchen exudes the tailoring and function of handsome Mission styling. The golden leaf granite adds warmth and durability, the backsplash sports tumbled marble on the diagonal with a leaf motif accent. Art glass pendants and a chandelier over the island add cheer. The Rooster portrait is a friendly motif used throughout including on the window treatment fabrics in red and gold.

About the Client
With friends vacation homes in the area, my client wanted to find a weekend getaway. This three bedroom, two bath home was a great layout, but required a real face lift. With new flooring, all new wall colors, all baths and the kitchen completely gutted and redone, and the horrendous popcorn ceilings scraped down, the vision for a place to entertain friends and get away from Atlanta began to show through. We established the color scheme based on a couple of antique quilts, and moved immediately into rug choices, with a family of Soumak and Nourmak weaves in lively yellow golds and crimsons.
